S.W. Mitchell CAPTIAL
Founded in 2005 in London as a specialist European equities investment boutique, S.W. Mitchell Capital now manages $2.4 billion for a highly diverse client base.
We have – and have only ever had – one approach to investing. We hold over 1,000 meetings a year with company managements across Europe, seeking to understand their strengths and weaknesses. This highly active programme of company visiting is the permanent heart of our investment process. We are independent, pragmatic, and always intellectually inquisitive. We also understand that our own team, most of whom have worked together for many years, has its own strengths and weaknesses, and we are prepared not just to build on our successes, but also to learn from our mistakes. We believe this has a good deal to do with why it is not just our team has been stable, but also our client base, whose long-term trust we so strongly value.
WHY JOIN US
Our team is flat in structure: lines of communication are short, and discussion is encouraged. Our office is a small one, and the working environment is friendly and open. You will be encouraged to become involved in a variety of tasks – no individual has a lock on competence in any aspect of what we do.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
In the same way as we ourselves have a wide array of backgrounds and education, we have no preconceived view of what these should be in those who join us. There is no special place just for those trained in, say, economics or finance. But we do want to see an enthusiastic attitude, an eagerness to learn, a readiness to pitch in – no matter what the task is – and a willingness to share in the culture of our firm.
