Administration before progressing into the Level 3 Procurement and Supply apprenticeship. What you'll be doing 

Join the Procurement Apprenticeship Programme and gain the essential experience and skills to excel at Legal & General. You’ll start with a cohort of apprentices and dive into our engaging induction, giving you insights into our business and helping you build a strong professional network.

In this full-time, permanent role, you’ll receive on-the-job training and coaching from your line manager and team, enhancing your business acumen and risk skills. Plus, you’ll study for an industry-recognised Professional Qualification, equipping you with the knowledge to tackle real-world business challenges.

Key Responsibilities: You will have a variety of responsibilities over the apprenticeship including a rotation across various roles within the broader Group Procurement team.

Areas include;

• Sourcing Process: Carry out analysis of selected spend areas, including price benchmarking, supplier reviews and market analysis. Involvement in planning negotiations and engaging with suppliers to purchase goods and services.
• Procurement Systems: Support the maintenance and updates of procurement systems and databases that underpin our work and provide critical information about our spending across the organisation.
• Purchase Requisition Processing: Process and approve purchase requisitions from various departments.
• Supplier Performance Monitoring: Help monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Spend Data Analysis: Support the Procurement Manager to analyse tail spend, identify spend categories, and use procurement principles to reduce, consolidate, and simplify spend categories.
• Risk Management: Assist in identifying and mitigating risks in the supply chain, including supply shortages or price volatility.

What we're looking for 

We are looking for people with an inquisitive mind and a desire to learn. We’re not expecting prior industry experience, but we’ll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly. These include:

• Maths and English GCSE at grade 5 and above
• Further qualifications to A level or equivalent
• Proven interest in procurement and supply chain 
• Strong organisational and data analysis skills (Excel)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Our Assessment Process 

Below we have provided an overview of what to expect in our recruitment process: 

• Online Test – including a numerical reasoning and behavioural questions to help us understand more about your strengths – there is no time limit to complete this 
• Video Interview – this will ask 3 core questions focusing on your motivation for joining L&G and your approach to learning – this is a timed interview 
• Assessment Centre – includes an interview, group exercise and presentation. This may be face to face or virtual and is the final stage in our recruitment process (please note Groupe Exercise do not apply to Intern roles)
