As a finance apprentice, one of my main roles involves reconciling transactions that have occurred within the Prudential group and as part of this I am responsible for preparing Balance Sheets and Profit and Loss accounts. I enjoy my job because it puts my analytical skills into practice and enables me to collaborate with a broad network of people. The supportive and welcoming culture of M&G has definitely been a highlight of my experience here so far and has had a huge influence over my smooth transition into the working world.
My job brings many challenges, whether it is the difficult task of balancing work with studying for professional qualifications; the many tight deadlines; or just generally the endless amount of unfamiliar terminology to get to grips with. However, there is so much support and guidance offered here at M&G and I am able to take on greater responsibility with more and more confidence.
After completing A-Levels in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry, I decided that university was not for me and so I began applying for apprenticeships and school leaver programmes. I applied for M&G through Investment20/20 and had to complete online tests, a video interview as well as 2 face-to-face interviews.
My aspirations are to complete the ACA qualification which should take approximately 5 years. As well as this, I hope to gain as much experience as I can in the industry and strive to be the best that I can.
Investment20/20 has been an essential part of my career development and has played a large part in broadening my understanding of the industry. I have really enjoyed their events and would highly recommend them.
