Why do you enjoy your job?

My job involves communicating and working with other teams within the business which means I am constantly meeting new people. My role gives me the opportunity to see how various business areas work and appreciate the business from different perspectives. I am able to focus on my day to day tasks but also get involved in more long-term projects. The team I work with within Operations also are a main reason why I enjoy my job!

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

Being an apprentice means I have to study for my IOC qualification as well as constantly learning new concepts within my role. I have always been quite a shy person, so constantly having to work with new people and learn new things was hard for me. The most challenging period is always month end!

How did you get into your job?

I was always planning to go to University after Sixth Form but I thought I needed a backup just in case I wasn’t accepted into my first choice. I looked online and applied for my role on the Investment20/20 website and within a month I had a telephone interview. A few days later they called me in for an interview and I was offered the job within an hour of leaving the office! I got accepted into my university but still chose to take the job.

What are your future aspirations?

I would like to complete other industry recognised qualifications which would provide me with the knowledge to become a lot more confident within my role.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

Investment20/20 has introduced me to some amazing people and has made me a more confident person. It is a great way to get into the financial industry as a school leaver.
