Why do you enjoy your job?

A great thing about working at Brooks Macdonald is that everyone is willing to help so I use this to my advantage by asking a lot of questions. I am lucky I sit around some very knowledgeable people and by asking questions helps to grow my knowledge.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

Time Management, my job involves new tasks popping up frequently while continuing underlying projects. Also, Responsibility as you are working with real peoples finances, there is that added pressure.

How did you get into your job?

I started working at Brooks Macdonald straight from sixth form. I always knew I wanted to go straight into work so I attended as many of the Investment20/20 events while still at school. I kept looking out for the exciting opportunities they offer on their website, that’s where I found my current role advertised. I sent in my application and received the news I had been chosen for a telephone interview. After this stage it was a face to face interview, which went well and within a week I was offered the job!

What are your future aspirations?

In the future I hope to develop my career in financial planning, exploring the different roles available to me. Also, furthering my studying by building up my qualifications in this industry.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

As part of the Investment20/20 scheme I have had the opportunity to attend many amazing events, giving me the exposure to network with people I might not usually meet. It has given me the confidence that I can have a career in the industry of my choice without a degree.
