I’m currently working on a 2 x 9 month rotational programme at Architas and in the 2nd rotation within the UK Proposition Team. My team is responsible for a range of tasks from Product Development, to Requests for Proposals, to Platform Relationship Management, and much more. The diversity in tasks on a daily basis is something I value as it gives me the opportunity for continuous learning. I’ve particularly enjoyed being part of our internal ‘DNA Champions’ team who are a team of colleagues from across the different entities that create initiatives to ensure that Architas continues to be an enjoyable working environment.
I would say the most challenging thing about working in the asset management industry is keeping up with regulations. Although it is a challenge, I have enjoyed the opportunities it presents to think of innovative ways to remain compliant and competitive which I was given visibility to whilst I was in my rotation within the Change Management Team.
I applied for a role at Architas after I completed a Masters in Management at UCL, and was looking for an entry level position in the asset management industry. I didn’t have previous work experience in the industry; however, Investment20/20 offered a unique platform that would help me launch my career.
The Investment20/20 scheme offers a range of opportunities (both graduate and apprentice level) in the world’s largest asset management firms, and as someone who did not have a background in finance, traditionally it would have been difficult for me to launch my career in this industry. Instead, the difference in my background was embraced which has given me the opportunity to do what I have always wanted to.
