Why do you enjoy your job?

I enjoy my job because it allows me to interact with all aspects of the business. I serve in an external client facing role but I also interact internally with different teams as part of my fund operations role. This includes working with fund managers, implementation and other operations teams dealing with cash flows and transactions.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

The hardest part of my job is ensuring that everything I relay to clients or internally is 100% correct! This can be hard for example on the phone to clients when you are frequently put on the spot or questioned closely by a solicitor. Internally, what you relay to fund managers regarding cash flows directly affects the trades they are placing, and so attention to detail and sufficient understanding of what you are saying or writing is essential.

How did you get into your job?

I came straight from university. I applied to Investec directly and they suggested I apply via Investment20/20. I haven’t looked back since.

What are your future aspirations?

My current ambition is to become a sales director. My skills are more suited towards the forging and cultivation of interpersonal relationships and communication, so I think this is the direction I am headed in.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

The experience has been educational and highly enjoyable.
