I work as part of a team to execute HR (Human Resourses) related activities. This includes heavy use of HR systems, which I have now had exposure to 2 – Workday and PeopleSoft. There are a plethora of HR processes such as joiners, leavers, redundancies, internal movements and anything related to contractual documentation. As the company is global, we communicate with the regions all over the world to help with data entry. This job involves being organised, efficient, pro-active and holding good relationships, especially with employees and the team. Since I have been in this role, I have learnt so much and no day is ever the same – which is always exciting and it has been a great experience.
There are many business processes needed to be learnt so that you can carry out the day to day job. I learn new things every day. When there is a high workload, meeting expectations is challenging but it is thriving to try and accomplish every job that the business has requested.
Once I had finished my A-levels, I applied through Investment20/20. Since 2016, I have had summer jobs in London, each a month’s placement within the financial and law sector. This was doing admin work within trade support and also HR, which I believe helped me to fulfil this role that I am in now.
In the future, I am looking to achieve my CIPD which could potentially lead me to become a HR Business Partner.
Investment20/20 has been very helpful and a great opportunity for those who want to learn and gain hands on experience. I believe that experience and learning on the go is significantly important and is a great way to build social and communication skills.
