Overcoming a variety of tasks, being drawn out of my comfort zone and being able to understand an array of different things over the course.
To be honest, I haven’t found anything exactly “challenging” about my role, so far. However, I would say, to new people coming into the business, to sustain your level of motivation/determination for your role – as work can become tedious at times.
During A-Levels, we received a presentation from Investment20/20 at our school; where I then enlisted onto the 2019 cohort for Think Investments. From there, I used my skills to get into assessment centres for J.P.Morgan, Rothschild & Co, Lloyds of London and Barings. Thankfully, I was accepted by both Barings and Lloyds of London – but I chose Barings in September 2019, as I had a sincerer connection towards this firm.
My career plan is to know as much about the business as I can – firstly, starting within Finance and then eventually working round to the investment/sales side of Asset Management.
It sounds cliché, but without Investment20/20 I can honestly say that I wouldn’t be in the position I’m in today. Not just from a careers perspective; but as an individual. Since joining the Investment20/20 programme I have grown in confidence and self-belief through the skills and knowledge I have learnt, this has helped me deliver speeches within my firm to hundreds of people, which I never imagined doing within my first 6 months in my career.
So, I am incredibly thankful for what Investment20/20 has done for me.
