Why do you enjoy your job?

I am currently working in the Data Analytics and Technology team which operates in the Internal Audit department. The role of our department is to provide assurance and improve operation by mitigating risk.

Within my team I have received the opportunity to involve myself in various activities from working with big data, taking part in minor Audit activities, creating dashboard reports and also networking with other members.

I have enjoyed the responsibility my team has provided me with such as running my own work-based project which has involved a lot of research, communication, review and validation to then finish this process by presenting my findings to the team.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

The nature of this role does come with a lot of day to day challenges which requires problem solving, finding efficient ways to tackle and making your daily tasks more effective, meeting deadlines and also looking for alternative solutions. I try to embrace such challenges involved within this role as this helps to foster my development.

How did you get into your job?

I studied HNC Business in College, this course has introduced me to the following Business areas of – economics, finance and accounting, marketing, IT and so on.

During this course I felt that I needed a placement which will provide me with the basic practical experience.

When I came across the Investment20/20 programme, I researched and found out that this route matches perfectly with my intensions of studying towards a qualification and working at the same time, due to this factor I didn’t hesitate to click the apply button.

So far, this programme has added so much value in to my development, I have received great mentorship from the people around me, discovered new ways of tackling work-based tasks, and also provided me with good understanding of the business and the industry it operates in.

What are your future aspirations?

Since joining this organisation, I have been able to think and consider some of the things I will like to do in the future such as becoming a Social Entrepreneur and involve myself in projects which will add a positive impact in our communities.

Furthermore, I plan to develop good working qualities, take my personal skills to a next level and aspire to be the best version of myself.

How would you sum up your Investment20/20 experience?

“Learning does not stop” – The exciting part for me is that, every day is a different day. Since day 1 of this programme there has always been a chance to learn or discover something new plus there is so much diversification in my daily tasks which makes my day very productive.
