I work within the Reward team in HR. I find this role well suited to my skill sets because it is a heavily analytical-focused position, involving shaping and forming arguments based on large data sets. I like that the analysis I do involving company compensation is used throughout the business, meaning that I can actively contribute to the benefits provided to Janus Henderson’s employees.
A lot of the work I do is either project based or cyclical, which often means once a project is completed you feel like you are back to square one, learning from scratch. However, this does mean that I am always doing something new, and I can now start to draw from the skills I learnt in previous project and be able to apply them to future tasks.
I am a university graduate. I studied Psychology at UCL, and was aware that I wanted to pursue a career in HR. I learnt about Investment20/20 during work experience at a financial services recruitment firm, and saw that Janus Henderson had an HR position available. Now that I am working at an asset management firm, I have come to understand the industry much more, and can see that there are other possible areas that I might want to move into in the future.
My main aspiration would be to work abroad for a number of years. Many of the Investment20/20 firms have offices across the globe, and I hope that eventually I will have the opportunity to live and work abroad.
For me, Investment20/20 has been invaluable in giving me a stepping stone into the financial services industry. Not only have I gained a great number of skills working at Janus Henderson, but I have also created a network across my firm and individuals from Investment20/20 which will be immensely beneficial as I continue to forge a career within this industry.
