Why do you enjoy your job?

I enjoy my job because it gives me the opportunity to learn something new every day. There is no “typical day”, because I support all our investment specialists working on their ad hoc requests and gaining exposure to the different sectors they specialise in.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

As well as delivering on a variety of ad hoc tasks, I am responsible for covering client reporting. I need to work well under pressure to produce multiple packs that have extremely tight deadlines. You might imagine all those last minute jobs to use the latest data available! This can be very challenging, but it gives me a great sense of satisfaction once I get everything done on time and accurately.

How did you get into your job?

I graduated in Economics in 2016. Back then, I didn’t know much about Investment Management, so I took a role in buy side recruitment, hoping that it would give me a solid understanding of the industry. I loved it until I realised I wanted to be on the other side of the phone, working in investments myself. I applied through Investment20/20 and here I am today.

What are your future aspirations?

One day I would love to make investment decisions myself and work in a very collaborative and inspiring team like the one I am in now. Emerging Markets and Asia really interest me at the moment. Being full of resources and opportunities, they are driving global growth and are a key area I would like to explore. And not only from an investment point of view: I hope I will be able to visit some of these countries in the near future!
