Working in performance, we analyse and evaluate fund performance through different time periods and produce monthly contribution and attribution reports to allow fund performance to be efficiently analysed.
I enjoy the job, because it gives me exposure to quantitative analysis of the performance of funds and the market. It therefore allows me to assess the reasons behind their relative performance due to market conditions and stock-specific factors. I feel as though it has given me a much deeper understanding in to the industry and how it fits into the macroeconomic landscape.
I also have a great team that have allowed me to develop significantly in my short time with GAM Investments.
There is often ad-hoc requests for bespoke analysis, so this means a lot of ‘thinking on your feet’ to find a solution and relay it back. I also enjoy this, because it allows in-depth analysis and more specific jobs. This industry is a particularly dynamic environment, so things are changing all the time and this means the job does not feel static and can change in different time periods.
I studied BSc International Business and Management at Aston University. This contained a study placement year at the University of Mannheim, which meant that I lived in Germany for a year. I graduated in 2018, and sought a job in the financial services industry. It is incredibly competitive for graduate schemes in financial services. Investment20/20 helped me ‘get my foot in the door’ and have supported my career development.
My Investment20/20 experience has been extremely stimulating, insightful and exciting. I have learnt a lot in the last 6 months and was provided this opportunity of development by Investment20/20 and GAM Investments.
