I thrive under pressure and enjoy the demanding environment in sales. I love working with technology and learning new skills. My role at Invesco has introduced me to lots of new software, such as Salesforce and Lipper, which are not only useful to have on my CV, but quite enjoyable to use. I also love working with Excel and finding new ways to improve my analytical capabilities.
Supporting such a large team with such a broad variety of requests can be overwhelming at times. Especially because of the short deadlines. But I seemed to get used to it very quickly. Being thrown in at the deep end can be character building!
I graduated from Oxford Brookes in 2018 with a Business and Management Degree. I have a broad variety of work experience, but nothing corporate and nothing in finance. I was completely unaware of what I wanted to do in my career long-term. However, Investment20/20 has opened my eyes to the possibilities within the investment industry and enabled me to realise the career path I want to take.
In the short-term I would like to become an analyst within an Investment team at Invesco or another asset management firm. I want to work towards achieving more investment qualifications and securing more senior positions within an investment team. I find equities the most exciting asset class, but I would also be keen to work in an ETF product development team, if the opportunity arose.
This internship is a valuable experience which will open many new doors to exciting opportunities. It has enabled me to grow significantly and begin realising my potential.
