I enjoy my job because it involves a range of tasks. This includes sending emails, assisting in the planning and preparation of internal company events as well as updating the intranet platform. I also like the fact that soft skills which I have obtained throughout the years was something that I was able to transfer into this role. For example, key skills for my role includes being efficient in using Outlook, Word, PowerPoint alongside having good written skills and I was able to build on these skills from prior internships/work experiences. What I like most about my role is that I am able to speak to a wide range of people at various levels of the organisation regarding any communication messages which they need me to send out which could be via email or publishing it on our intranet.
I would say that time management is challenging at times especially when there is lots of events taking place within the same week. However, I see this as a good thing as it helps me to work effectively under pressure.
I started my traineeship straight from college. I knew I didn’t want to go to university as there was another debt-free route into the financial services industry. Therefore, I wanted to make use of this opportunity. Investment20/20 had been a very useful platform to assist me on applying for various roles at various companies (most of which I had never heard of before). Investment20/20 has helped me to start my first role in the financial services industry and with the 1-year experience that I will obtain at the end of my traineeship, this will be crucial to my CV to help make me stand out of the crowd when applying for my next job.
I intend to start a permanent role after my 1-year traineeship. Whether that be at my current office (if I get offered a permanent role) or at another company.
