About 7IM 

The ‘7’ in 7IM refers to the seven original founders of the business. Back in 2002, they couldn’t find a firm they trusted to manage their families’ money properly – big banks seemed impersonal and greedy, while most boutiques lacked the necessary investment process and structure. They started the kind of organisation they’d like to invest with themselves. Their aim was to deliver steady returns over the long term, while keeping an eye on risk, using the best technology. They wanted everyone to have access to the kind of service and expertise that institutional investors would expect. We’ve evolved since then. In 2015 Caledonia Investments joined us as a major shareholder. In 2018 we acquired Tcam Asset Management, a firm we felt closely aligned with our investment philosophies and multi-asset approach. In 2020 we continued our long-term growth strategy and acquired the award-winning London based financial planning firm Partners Wealth Management (PWM). PWM will continue to operate as an independent company, retaining its brand, identity, and leadership. Our team, our clients and our funds under management have grown steadily over the years. From our offices in London & Edinburgh, more than 600 talented people manage over £21 billion for a range of clients, including individuals and families, financial advisers, corporates, charities, and trustees. Purpose 

Provide administrative support to the Team Lead of Onboarding, to ensure timely transition of client assets into 7IM. Responsibility for processing new transfer instructions and chasing cases with counterparties to ensure transfers complete in a timely manner whilst ensuring relevant updates and query handling to end IFA clients. Work with the Onboarding team to track and report on assets in transfer and ensure adherence to Service Level agreements, liaising with colleagues and third parties to follow up and update on progress.

You will join as a trainee as part of the Investment20/20 trainee programme. As a trainee, you will be introduced to investment management and you will gain industry knowledge, experience and develop relationships to progress your career and develop skills to secure a permanent role. As part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with over 300 trainees across the industry and participate in socials and insight events. 

Responsibilities 

• Check and process transfer requests received from 7IM relationship management teams, liaising with third parties regarding settlement and inputting instructions into Pershing NEXUS system 
• Respond directly to end IFA clients queries in an efficient and timely manner.
• Communicate with counterparties, fund managers and custodians to manage the smooth and timely transition of client assets to and from 7IM 
• Efficient tracking and reporting of assets in transfer using the Asset Tracker system, providing clear and relevant updates to enable the client (internal and external) to monitor progress of the transfer 
• Management of Transitions mailbox, post, and telephone queries 
• Process transfers through our electronic reregistration system – Altus and Origo
• Monitor reports and systems to check for receipt of funds and assets, process cheques for the custodian to apply to the accounts 
• Receiving transfer cheques into 7IM, cross checking information, updating the system and passing to cash management team for processing 
• Process payments to clients and third parties in relation to transfers out of 7IM 
• Ensure adherence to internal and client operational procedures and controls 
• Management of Onboarding mailbox, post and telephone queries 
• Maintain relationships with third party administrators, Fund Managers and custodian 
• Treat clients (internal and external) and colleagues fairly and adhere to the 7IM mission and tenets 
• Maintain relationships with other 7IM departments 
• Ensuring payroll is processed in an accurate and timely manner 
• Ensuring AML checks for new and existing clients – including KYC and bank account checks are carried out 
• Managing the Money In and Money Out bank accounts to ensure funds are allocated in a timely manner 

Knowledge 

• Knowledge of Microsoft Apps is an advantage
• Candidates should be keen to learn about the Investment and Pension industry, SIPP, Offshore Bond

• Flexible attitude to duties as the role requirements may evolve to meet changing demands within the team. The successful candidate may undertake training to provide holiday cover to other areas within Operations.
